Literature
Raimundo de Madrazo y Garretta (Rome 1841- Versailles 1920)
Son of the noted painter Federigo Madrazo; exhibitor at the Paris Salon, obtaining a First Class medal in 1878, and a gold medal in 1889 at the Exposition Universelle. Elected as a Knight of the Legion d’ honneur in 1878, and elevated to Officer of the Legion d’honneur in 1889. His works are exhibited at the Prado, Madrid, Musee d’ Orsay, Baltimore Museum of Fine Art, and the Metropolitan Museum, New York.
