Provenance This table displays the main characteristics of William Moore of Dublin's work; both in its design with exquisite fan marquetry inlay and choice of woods: satinwood and sycamore. William Moore trained in London specialising as a 'marqueter'with the leading firm of Mayhew and Ince. He then left for the increasingly prosperous city of Dublin which was building its Georgian New Town. Moore set up his workshops at Abbey Street in Dublin (1785-90) and then at Capel Street and was known for producing elegant marquetry inlaid furniture.
