Description
A large and rare Italian Savona blue and white charger dating 1670.
The large shaped plated decorated with so-called "tappezzeria" pattern (meaning wallpaper" and at the centre depicting "Heracles and Omphale"
Only few chargers of this size (44 cm diameter) survive and mostly in museums (such as the collection of Castello Sforzesco in Milan, Inv. M 627)
A large hairline crack professionally restored.
Mark "stemma" on the back
