Description
Probably made for a military official of high rank, the two cleverly interlocking sections cast, with considerable additional chased and carved detail, to depict a pair of snarling three-clawed dragons confronted on a flaming pearl against a wan diaper ground (the Chinese ‘wan’ or ‘ten thousand’ swastika symbol embodying a wish for long life).
