Description
The bronze, Kangxi (1662-1722) or earlier, has a good untouched dark patina and the silver inlays are also oxidised very dark. The tripod vessel is of oval section with double heaven soaring handles and is cast with a lei wen and roundel diaper on the belly and a band around the neck with confronted kui dragons. There is a fine silver inlaid classic scroll around the shoulders and the handles, and a two-character Shisou signature on the base. The carved hardwood lid and stand are close in period.

The bronze is 14 cm (5 1/2 inches) high without the stand, and 10 cm (4 inches) wide
