An Important and rare William & Mary walnut chest of drawers decorated throughout with finely executed, intricate panels of marquetry of various woods. The moulded top with a central theme of spring flowers in bloom surrounded by birds and butterflies; the sides each with a similar central panel of marquetry within a cross banded border depicting a creation of blooming flowers guarded by two wild turkeys. The two short and three long graduated drawers with chased brass drop handles and escutcheons are also decorated with panels of similar marquetry, showing sea serpents, butterflies and birds, the chest standing on bun feet, below a shaped moulding.
